Stress

Stress is a feeling that's created when we react to particular events. It's the body's way of rising to a challenge and preparing to meet a tough situation with focus, strength, stamina, and heightened alertness.

The events that provoke stress are called stressors, and they cover a whole range of situations - everything from outright physical danger to making a class presentation or taking a semester's worth of your toughest subject.

The human body responds to stressors by activating the nervous system and specific hormones. The hypothalamus signals the adrenal glands to produce more of the hormones adrenaline and cortisol and release them into the bloodstream. These hormones speed up heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure, and metabolism. Blood vessels open wider to let more blood flow to large muscle groups, putting our muscles on alert. Pupils dilate to improve vision. The liver releases some of its stored glucose to increase the body's energy. And sweat is produced to cool the body. All of these physical changes prepare a person to react quickly and effectively to handle the pressure of the moment.

This natural reaction is known as the stress response. Working properly, the body's stress response enhances a person's ability to perform well under pressure. But the stress response can also cause problems when it overreacts or fails to turn off and reset itself properly.

Without a Care in the world

i wish it were the days where everyone made 40 valentines for everyone in the class. where everything was so simple and not so complex. where someone saying they liked you meant they wanted to be friends. where school was just another place to sit and listen to someone talk for the day.

where life was rainbow colors and shiny new car toys. where my footprint in the snow was no more then the size of a cats print.

where stuffed animals where your best friends. and lollipops made the world all better.

where crying was when your mom said no more candy for you. where the days went by without a care in the world. where the only thing you had to remember that walking meant "left right left right"

where summers were filled with sunny skies and blue waters. where a hill of sand was a castle and you were the king and queen of the world . and the only rules where the ones you made.

where the rules of life were simple. say please and thank you and no pointing and dont go to far. where life was simple. and days went by without a care in the world.

Where winters were when you dressed up so much that you couldn’t move you arms. Full of falling on the ice and getting back up and trying again and again and again.

That was the thing about being a child. You thought you could do anything, no matter how many times you didn’t make it work, you never gave up. And most people forger that as they go along to live their lives. Thoughts full of logic and rules and lines that could not be crossed.
But when thought of in a true fashion, you could see past all of that and notice the simplicity of the world and the things around you. That a lollipop could still make the frown on your face disappear and the world my seem just a bit lighter.

where being a friend

meant one thing

it meant being there for one and other. understanding that you didnt have to understand why they were upset. the only thing you needed to know, was that you had to make them feel better. life is like a math question, you start out at 10 000 and you have to make your way to 0. but you dont know how to go about doing that. so you have to try all the combinations of words and equations. and no matter how many wrong turns you take, you will somehow, manage to make it to 0. no matter how long it takes. but you always have to remember, its ok to ask for help, that its ok to say i cant do this alone. its ok to let go even if just for a moment.

life will go on. and so will we. even through all the hardships and things we go through, there will always be the child in us that will get back up. and grab that lollipop. and try again. Thinking without a care in the world.

A sad little poem

Tear streaked face
Pain filled eyes
Hurt voice
Hurt pride
Painful memories
Within painful loves
Friendships strong
Friendships none
Smiling through broken tears
Looking within the emptiness that fills her
The dark and lonely passage to happiness awaits
Along the yellow brick road
To the land of Oz
Where all will be happy
Once and for all

Alone with thoughts
Retched thoughts
Blood filled dreams
And dirt filled streams
Memories a none
Leaving traces of happiness
Only enough to stray deeper into the pain
To find the remains
Of what once was a happy little day

Speaking of nothing
Hearing noting
The people around watch in despair
As the once happy little girl seems to disappear

Grasping air
Reaching out
Trying to hold on to what’s left of a happy life
Holding onto nothing

Hopes crashed
Dreams corrupted
Freedom taken
Voice gone

The Generalization of Blogs.

For some. Blogs are used for a form of entertainment. for others, advertisement and so on. for me, it is a random way to express some feelings, write some things, and just a way to amuse myself instead of staying on facebook for hours on end. so, welcome to my blog : )

Alice: I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?' Ah, that's the great puzzle!
